About Infinet's TV Mounting Service

Wall-mounting a TV can instantly declutter a room, decrease neck and eye strain, and make the most of its picture and sound capabilities. It creates a cleaner, more stylish look that instantly appeals to the interior designer in all of us, especially when you select one of our ultra-low-profile mounting brackets. In fact, wall mounting your TV even makes it safer: getting your TV off the table protects it from clumsy loved-ones, rambunctious children, and curious pets, and thieves are far more likely to grab a stand-alone unit, rather than mess with detaching a wall-mounted TV.

And while YouTube may make mounting your TV seem like a pretty simple job, flat-screen TVs are expensive, delicate, and surprisingly heavy. A professional TV installation safeguards the investment you've already made in your TV, as well as safeguarding your back and your drywall. A failed wall mount could mean tens of thousands of dollars in property damage and injury, and less than $200 is a small price to pay for peace of mind. If anything goes wrong, we're responsible.

Frankly, if do-it-yourself guides and handymen could do our job as well as we do, we wouldn't still be here seven years later. Our HeightRight™ formula determines the perfect TV mounting height for your specific space, preventing neck and eye strain and ensuring the showroom picture quality from wherever you watch your TV most. We also have the training to conceal your wires in accordance with local building and electrical codes; using an untrained handyman or doing electrical work yourself risks immeasurable damage to your home, not to mention voiding the renter's or home owner's insurance intended to shield you from that very damage. And finally, even for those of us that could figure out how to mount their TVs, who would want to waste a beautiful Saturday deciphering foreign instruction manuals, balancing a heavy TV, and drilling that first terrifying hole in their wall?

Fireplace Mounting
Available* Most installers avoid fireplace mounts because of the difficulty in avoiding problems, but we take special precautions to ensure the structural integrity of your fireplace and a long life for your TV.

For more information, please see our "Frequently Asked Questions" below, specifically "Will you mount my TV over a fireplace?"
In-Wall Electrical
Available* Services like Geek Squad and Amazon Home Services won't touch electrical wiring or install new recessed electrical outlets for your TV. Infinet techs, though, have the training to do in-wall electrical wiring, so with us you aren't limited by the placement of your existing outlets.

Frequently Asked Questions

As we mentioned earlier, using a professional TV mounting service will safeguard the investment you've already made in your TV, as well as safeguarding your home and your back. Mounting a TV yourself (or having an unskilled "handyman") voids most homeowner's/renter's insurance policies and violates the terms of most leases, and a single mistake could mean tens of thousands of dollars in damage to your home and serious injury to yourself or others. For the few that are truly capable of mounting their TV properly and safely, we certainly recommend doing it yourself. But for the rest of us, less than $200 for professional TV installation is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Beyond safety and legality, our training and our knowledge from thousands of installed TVs means we're able to offer a faster, simpler, better installation experience.
When we arrive, we'll begin by discussing where you'd like the TV, locating the wall's studs, and working with you to determine the perfect viewing height for your space. Then, we'll unpack the TV and mounting bracket (if necessary), assemble the mounting bracket to the TV, and take detailed measurements to determine bracket placement. Once we confirm our measurements, we'll secure the bracket to the studs in your wall and load-test to ensure the installation can support a shear load of at least 1.5x the weight of your specific TV. At this point, we'll be ready to hang your TV on the mounting bracket and begin connecting your devices. That's right: unlike the competition, we include both component connection—connecting all the AV cables between your TV and your devices— and picture/sound calibration* services at no additional charge. That means that by the time we leave, all your devices will actually work with your TV, your TV will look and sound even better than it did at the store, and your TV will have been transformed from an eyesore to a subtle centerpiece.
New technology is exciting, but it can also be a total headache to actually get it working—especially when you're trying to get independent devices to communicate with one another. Our professionals have the right tools and experience to quickly and correctly setup your TV and connect it to your other devices. With Infinet's Complimentary Component Connection™ service, you can skip the frustration altogether and just worry about catching up on the latest episodes of your favorite show. Once we mount your TV, your technician will connect all your devices, including your cable box, DVD/Blu-ray player, gaming consoles, streaming media devices (such as Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, etc), and other types of set-top boxes. We'll also configure up to two remotes for your TV and/or devices. And, while Geek Squad™ charges $200 just for this service, with Infinet it's included for free. Because really, what good is a beautifully mounted TV if you can't watch anything on it?
Typically, your TV will be centered somewhere between 48" and 60" high. There's a complicated formula we use to figure out exactly how high your TV should go, however, and it accounts for many issues affecting optimal mounting height (including the size and quality of your television, whether you'll be sitting, standing, or lying down, and the distance from the television to the primary viewing location). Our formula eliminates the guesswork our competitors often employ, and it ensures your TV will always be mounted at the best height, both for your home's aesthetics and your viewing comfort.
When we mount your TV, we'll happily clean up your wires, bundling them together in a single line and securing any slack with zipties. This will substantially reduce the messiness of visible cords, but for a completely seamless look, we recommend selecting our Wire Concealment service, which is an additional charge separate from the TV mounting service. We offer both plastic track and in-wall wire concealment (for an additional fee), and your technician would be happy to help you decide which concealment option is best for your space.
Yes. Most companies shy away from mounting TVs over fireplaces, and admittedly for good reason. If you aren't an expert at these kind of installs, it's all too easy to compromise the integrity of the mount, the wall and the chimney, as well as ensure a substantially shortened lifespan for your TV from heat and carbon damage. Geek Squad and Amazon won't even consider fireplace mounting because their technicians don't have the necessary training; handymen know even less about proper fireplace installs.
Infinet, however, is truly an expert at mounting TVs abover fireplace mantels: roughly 1 in 3 of our installs is over a fireplace, and none has ever experienced a failed mounting bracket, a compromised chimney or wall, or premature TV failure. How do we maintain such a spotless record?
First, all our technicians are rigorously trained in mapping the fireplace structure through visual and electronic deep-wall scans. The benefits of this are two-fold: avoiding misplaced pilot holes and mounting bolts through the chimney itself, and ensuring we mount the bracket to true studs that can support its weight (as opposed to any of the mantelpiece's extensive wood framing, which cannot reliably do so).
Second, even if the bracket is appropriately mounted without compromising the chimney, heat is unavoidable in such close proximity to the fireplace. That's why we also ensure our materials can withstand such a high heat environment, including using brackets featuring our unique HeatTuff™ steel (a reinforced, high-heat-tolerant, heavy-guage steel). HeatTuff is available in fixed, tilt, and dual-arm full motion mounting brackets.
After seven years and well over a thousand TVs mounted, we've never scratched a floor, broken a TV, had a wall mount fail, or had any insurance claims filed against us. The odds are on our side, but there's a first time for everything. Rest assured, we stand behind everything we do. If you’re not satisfied with the way your TV was installed, or any issues arise after we leave, we promise we'll do what it takes to make it right.
